We all know about Sai Jhulelal( Varun Avtar).But do you know who wasThakkar Pugar Sai ?He was the paternal uncle of Lord Jhulelal who was awarded 'Guru Gaddi' by Lord Jhulelal himself because of his selfless love for Lord Jhulelal.There is small story regarding this. Lord Jhulelal had two brothers 'Soma Rai' and 'Bhedu Rai'. When Lord Jhulelal had finished his motive of Punr Dharam Asthapan for which he had come to this world, he had offered his brothers the divine 'Guru Gaddi' for disseminating and spreading his teachings to the world.But Lord's brothers refused to accept 'Guru Gaddi' by saying that this is 'beggars work' and that does not match their standard. So Lord Jhulelal has given this divine 'Guru Gaddi' to his loveable disciple 'Sant Pugar Rai'. He was the First 'Thakkar' or 'Thakkur' that means 'Priest'. His birth sub caste was Tinya.Lord Jhulelal has also given 7 divine symbolic things to Thakkur Pugar.These seven are from the essential elements of the Daryahi Sect.These 7 things are Deg( Utensil to make sacred Prasad), Teg( Sword), Sacred Fire(Jyot), Divine Mudra(Ring), Jal ki Jhari(HeavenlyWater in a Pot), Sacred Khintha(Palav a Sacred Cloth), Vishnu Cheera( A Head Wearable).Lord Jhulelal blessed Guru Pugar with eighteen Nidhi's and Sidhi's, five Sacred Fires, Powers to give life blessings and death curse.
With times popularity of Thakkur Guru Gaddi reached at the peak. So Soma Rai and Bhedu Rai realized their fault.They went to Guru Pugar and asked him to leave the Diivine place of Jyoti Sthan and said being brothers of Sai Jhulelal 'Guru Gaddi' is their right. Guru Pugar ji sofetly left to home.He prayed Lord Jhulelal looking into water on land's surface.Lord Jhulelal, Jal Jyoti Brahm was now apparent.Guru ji told Lord about the matter.Lord then called his brothers Soma Rai and Bhedu Rai. Lord then scolded his brothers and told them that Sant Pugar could have given them curse and ruin their life but he did not do so.Soma Rai and Bhedu Rai felt sorry and begged to Lord Jhulelal to give them also 'Guru Gaddi'. Lord gave them 'Divine Jyoti', a Sacred Fire and told them to make Jyoti Sthan and Worship Jal Jyot and Brahma and pay regards to Thakkar Pugar Sai.With time poeple will also follow you.
With time descendent of Soma Rai and Bhedu Rai are Called to be 'Somai Thakkar' and descendent of Thakkur Guru Pugar Rai are called 'Budhai Thakkar' in the name of 'Budha Lal', son of Thakkar Pugar sai. These days also descendents Thakkurs are serving Guru Gaddi in differentnt parts of India and also in Pakistan's Sindh.People respect them and take 'Naam Daan' from them.
